On July 24th, we had the pleasure of celebrating a truly special milestone: the opening of our very first ÖÖD Hötels location in Italy.

The new destination is nestled within Spino Fiorito, a charming agriturismo located in the heart of Lunigiana, Tuscany. Managed with heart and passion by Davide and his wonderful family, the site offers breathtaking views of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the majestic Apuan Alps: perfectly mirrored in the reflective façades of our ÖÖD Houses.
Spino Fiorito Open House Event – A Day of Connection
The launch event was a great success, filled with inspiring guests, visionary ideas, and a shared excitement for the future of hospitality. Visitors came from all over Italy – even as far as Sardinia – to experience the ÖÖD concept firsthand. It was incredibly rewarding to witness such enthusiasm and curiosity, and to hear so many kind and thoughtful compliments about the houses.
A Taste of Tradition, a Touch of Magic
We were also thrilled to feature local food artisans who served traditional delicacies prepared with love and authenticity, offering a true taste of Lunigiana’s culinary heritage. One of the day’s most memorable moments was a surprise appearance by a falcon trainer, whose magnificent falcon delivered the symbolic key to the new ÖÖD Hötels manager – none other than our inspiring partner, Davide. Adding to the magic, performers dressed in dazzling mirror-themed outfits brought a playful nod to the design of our houses, creating a beautiful harmony between art, nature, and architecture.
Celebrating Vision and Community
The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with meaningful conversations, spontaneous connections, and a shared sense of wonder. Davide’s boldness in embracing innovation and his dedication to enhancing the region were recognized by many, including the mayor of Casola in Lunigiana, who praised both the project and the vision behind it.
It was a day to remember and just the beginning of something very exciting for ÖÖD in Italy.

A key contributor to the project was architect Paolo Scoglio from the ne[s]t architect studio, who reimagined the ÖÖD houses as elevated “tree houses.” By lifting them above ground level, he enhanced their visual dialogue with the landscape, creating even more striking reflections.
